I've taken similar pictures before but every year nature has its own special ways of displaying itself... its own patterns... its new growth... and I can't resist..

ReplyDeleteTo new growth. As I sit here listening to the rain splashing on the tin roof, I remember sitting on your lovely porch one evening during the lightening storm. I am thankful for the 'simple' things and am always in aww of the views/grounds from your place and the company within. Take care my Seaside friend.

And somehow I think that those who experience a long hard winter, appreciate the beauty that nature provides in the next three seasons even more. Thank you for sharing such gorgeous pictures yet again. It is always a pleasure to revel in them from the other end of the world.

Good eyes Priya! Yes they are the Lady's Slipper Orchid. This is the first time we saw them blooming at this location, we almost couldn't believe it. They are so rare. I wish I saw them when they first came into flower as the color would have been much brighter.

ReplyDeleteLaura, the Ferns are so fragrant, and the Cranesbill is blooming amazingly this year. I notice this in many of the flowering plants this year.
Oh Gwen, what an amazing place you have. Looking out on the water past the beautiful stone wall, the ferns, geranium,lilac, Siberian iris?, hosta and rose of sharon... oh and the evergreens! It is so peaceful looking and glorious. I envy you!
