Gorgeously intense colours! So beautiful, how that tiny sliver of a moon balances with the large dark silhouettes of the "homestead." Your house has a very intriguing profile. Oh, and how lovely are the charcoal smears of clouds across the deepening sky, providing movement and grace to the whole scene.
With the wind whipping the old pine in a frenzy, your house looks like a refuge, a haven of peace tucked away on the edge of the fiery sky. The moon adds even more atmosphere.
What a spectacular photo! The colors, composition, sliver of moon - wow wow wow. You should frame a print of this!
Read your response to my comment. I would love to have a crow "pet". A good friend of mine did growing up, and her stories are amazing. It would ride around on her shoulder, keeping her company in the neighborhood, chasing off dogs. . . .
Thank you Everyone... No matter where we live in the world, The beauty of nature leaves us all spellbound, a good deal of the time... don't you agree!!!
You, John, Max and the animals live with views most of us would have to travel to a resort to see. I am so happy for you. What's really great about it, Gwen, is that you absorb and appreciate it better than most of us would, perfect! Now I realize I've never wondered how you got that particular piece of land. Places like that don't come available every day.
It's an incredibly moving photo. The moon and home, together. The tree, the graceful clouds, the range of complementary colors in the big sky. You are such a treasure.
Spectacular Gwen. Takes my breath away and such scenes offset the opposite in our lives and the world. There's a balance isn't there, and gifts like this can tip the scales.
Oh Gwen... your home is spectacular here... especially so because you and your family made it... it must have been fun to see it so from afar... Happy Holidays, Roxanne
Ahh Gwen my Seaside Friend, how these folks have come to know and appreciate you. Your home is a reflection of your combined creativities and creativeness. I look up the bluff each time I pass and as I turn the drive I have to look out at the sea. I am forever telling you I would never tire from your view and this, my friend is oh so true! Thank you - for being you and for sharing your time with us.
Deborah, welcome, you have been very productive.. it is almost time for me to re-immerse into this years work.. Life goes in cycles doesn't it... ...everything is white, bright and beautiful this morning... it must be lovely up your way too!!
Since 1992 we have been creating our whimsical Desideratum Art Jewelry, we are now taking a Sabbatical. Yes, indeed... we have waited a long time for this. The freedom to explore and experiment with abandon and to indulge ourselves in the many fields of creativity that have been simmering away on the back burner.
...and still occasionally creating a piece of jewelry and placing it on our FB Business page Desideratum Art and Jewelry
The prospect of the future is Exhilarating to say the least.
Thank You so very much to Everyone, Individuals and Shop Owners, who have followed our work all these years... we dearly appreciate it... we hope to have lots more things to share in this next chapter of our lives.
Go Placidly Amid The Noise And Haste and Remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; And listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; They too have their story...
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you will become vain and bitter; For always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans...
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; It is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism...
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity & disenchantment it is perennial as the grass...
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself...
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should...
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors & aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul...
With all the sham, drudgery & broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.......

Beautiful, as usual. I wish I had a home like that. It has character and atmosphere, from the inside and outside.

It's ever so lovely. I can just imagine the door opening a crack, then some more, and a party spilling out to fill the darkness with points of light.

What ever your day, it would all melt into insignificance looking at that beautiful sky.
I guess that soon your sky will be full of snow flakes.
What a gorgeous photo and the lone house there on the right (yours, right)..

Oh Roxanne that far away view is the 1/2 way mark of coming up our driveway after we make our way to the top of the bluff...
