Flowers... Crystals... Silver...

During the summer I try to keep fresh cut flowers in our little shop... So many are blooming now it is hard to choose...

I had just finished creating a few new pair of earrings and thought what better background with the late afternoon light...

I loved the silhouette of the berries on the sprigs of feathery asparagus.... and the delicate hues and shapes...

The Crows kindly left me a feather
to display my earrings in a row....

The flowers are all perennials or self-seeded annuals... they have expanded in their beds and become established and now don't need much care... except for the pleasure of picking them...

I always hoped for this ...

Flowers in the bouquet include...Yellow Lily, Galardia, Scotch Thistle, Hosta, Pink Mallow, Black Eyed Susan, Calendula, and Bachelors' Buttons.

approx. length of earrings 2¼" on Sterling Silver shepherd hooks.... $35.00 pr ... more designs on my web album...

Available... if interested in DESIDERATUM Art Jewelry, please contact me, Thank-You.

When your post opened, the wild array of color made my heart skip. You always hoped for this . . I understand that. If I walked into your shop (thankfully you let me like this) my heart would just melt, and I'd go over to those earrings and think, 'I would like to wear a pair of these when I'm tan and dressed up to go out for a summer dinner on a terrace.'

So the displays you show us here, you use in the shop? The feather 'rack' is just perfect for those earrings.

I wish I had flowers like those--I want to paint them!! For a year or two there was a woman who grew and sold bunches of wildflowers--I miss her!
You are so ingenious in the way you display your earrings! To say nothing of the earrings themselves ... I may be contacting you (again!!)

The prefect bouquet! How lovely to have these growing in your yard ready to cut and arrange.
I really like the crow's feather with the earrings displayed on it. Very cool! I love the crystals, they have energy!
These are fantastic Gwen!!!

Well for the moment, Ruth, I display them this way but soon the bouquet will need to be replaced... then I'll put them on little cards on a display stand... and then the next new ones can have a place of honour.

Ruth, if you saw the way we look most of the time 'round here when we are in work mode or even not in work mode, you would know that very casual is how we are.

.............

Laura, I would love to see your delicate watercolors of some of our colourful blooms.. That would be very special!!

..............

Thanks Sharon and Anet, I am so happy that most of the flowers grew that I planted... and to make a living from creating things I feel so lucky every day!!!

beautiful way you arrange the flowers. I love that you care for them and then they care for you; open to your desire; your appreciative eye. Its nice here. Not to mention the handcraft.

One extravagance I allow myself is fresh flowers. They are so uplifting. Not having a garden to look out on, I find it soothing making my arrangements.

There's something so peaceful, soothing..spiritual about your posts. The "casualness" about your life all adds to it. The earings are just perfect.

Roxanne, As much as I wish for it, I think these crow feathers are the closest I am going to come to having a pet crow...

Thank you, Robyn, time passes so quickly I just wish to cherish every moment...

Oh, lovely. I might forward this post to my husband...hint, hint. ;) He always comments that he doesn't know what catches my eye, or what I like...

I love having flowers in my yard -they are wonderful for both the eyes and spirit. Enliven us all.
