These are the most beautiful shade of blue. They are the color of the ocean and remind me of how far away I am from the sea (being landlocked in Montana...) You create lovely art! Jamie V

These are a beautiful blue, Gwen. Yes, I want to be chosen from your blue bowl, although I'm sure people will think it looks "fishy" if I win - since you won my make-do pincushione! But don't let that stop you from picking my name! I especially am enjoying these earring because .... I have started fiddling with jewelry making. I don't know what got me started - maybe from seeing so many beautiful things on etsy - that I couldn't afford! I would never have expected this - I always think we are either hard surface people or soft surface people. And I am obviously a soft surface person. It will be interesting to see how much soft stuff will end up being incorporated in whatever jewelry I make. So far, I am not doing any "real" making, as in I haven't made my own chain, nor have I done anything that requires soldering (yet). I've been designing, stringing and connecting. But I am at the beginning of the journey, so that's okay. I have taken a silk knotting class (so I could restring my pearls by myself), and a wire wrapping class. And I've bought some fabulous books. I spend my free time at the bead store, acquiring. And I am digging up my collections of "stuff" that I love but never know what to do with - talisman necklaces, here I come!

it would be a beautiful sea berry to make such a beautiful teardrop.

Thanks for being a joy, you!

Gwen Buchanan said...

mansuetude oh these very special Sea berries will never melt, once they have turned to this crystalline state... it has to do with the ever so chilling nature of the Fundy waters... they are forever...

do you believe me?... if you poked your toes in this afternoon you would.. well come to think of it... if you poked your toes in on a warm August afternoon it wouldn't feel much different...
the temps. don't change much in that deep body of water.. it is a force... a good one...

mansuetude said...

my toes say they are cozy and happily barefoot today!

I am glad they are forever; just like the sea, which when standing near sometimes, looking out, makes me feel so insignificant and yet so large, expansive as the horizon's blurring lines; eternal and as deep, but fleetingly, in another way my mortal mind can barely reach.

I've been in the Atlantic ... my toes trust you.

Gwen Buchanan said...

...and Trusting Toes are almost as good as a Loyal Dog... which puts them right up there in my books!!

Gwen Buchanan said...

... or would that be a loyal pig... as in little piggies... trust me they can be loyal too.. very intelligent creatures...
