Red Sky in the Morning

...taken from our second floor window

........ Sailors take warning!!!

...  a recent gorgeous sky before a recent dreadful storm.

.....rather like Nature asking forgiveness for what she is about to do.

... Long billows of cloud hang over the southern coastline of New Brunswick and approximately 25 - 30 miles across the Bay of Fundy, over the northern edge of Nova Scotia.

Any damage?

No Damage, Thanks for asking...

...just the beauty of approaching danger.

Gorgeous sky! Wow!

Stunning! And very much why I paint skies.... hope the storm was exciting but uneventful!

I used to stay up watching storms from our picture windows on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, thoroughly entranced. We were on a bluff overlooking the ocean next to the lighthouse. A similar looking vantage to your home. Now, living in the forest, I'm a little more concerned in high winds, a different thing altogether!

As a sailor I had as many false warnings as real ones using "Red sky in morning, sailor take warning". The real ones were impressive so the false warnings were OK.
I would like to live by the sea now but not on it. It appears that is not likely to be in this lifetime.

The sky doesn't look ominous at all--just beautiful. What a lovely and amazing world we live in with skies like that!

Looks ominous doesnt it, but beautiful too.

Red sky at night, shepherds delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning. But living by the sea too I think your version applies equally. The sheep have their wooly coats on and pvc coated bales of hay are at the ready for them and horses and a few cattle. No doubt the red deer will have a nibble too. Eastern side of North America is our western side of these isles warning system so I'm battening down the hatches... it's started tentatively.

not a lot of broken things?

I'm sorry I missed such a gorgeously temperamental sky but not the storm! I was amazed, though, just how very cold it can seem out in Lotus Land and even got to sample some west coast snow while there. You must get some pretty good gusts up on your hilltop!

Occasionally we will get a beautiful sky like that- all colour and drama- great warning!Hang on - It's the season for weather to have it's way!

After a really horrid storm we had that same sky at sundown (around 3:30 pm) and we were glad that sailor's delight was in store. Unfortunately that was the same storm that left Down East and headed your way. I remember thinking to myself "gosh, I hope that isn't heading for Fundy' Next time I'll send a prayer instead.

It's hard not to appreciate a beautiful sky... Even if it does foretell a storm..

...at least she tried to warn us...

Spectacular sky Gwen. I'm glad there was no damage. We have had snow and
-10 degree nights!! Really unusual for us. We are enjoying the crisp, clear air and those starry nights though :~) Keep safe and blessed be.

Awesome skyscape, and it is incredibly hard for even the most advanced cameras to do justice to the sky, I imagine the real thing as seen by your human eyes far surpassed any possible image of it. Our eyes and the screens they project on in our minds remain the highest tech photographic equipment on the market...

That yellow in the pink is breathtaking. I like your take on the asking forgiveness first. :)

Would I love to sit on your porch and watch a storm come in!

A storm usually follows. The lady I used to walk with always quoted this saying when we faced such a sky. We're getting so much rain and it's the first day of Summer today. So much for 'global warming'!

Here comes another.. the sky was purple and pink again...

hmmm... that sounds sarcastic. Meant it, really. The sky is gorgeous and I'm always game for a winter storm.

Debbi and Bumble Vee, I am mesmerized with every scan of the horizon.
Nature is surely incredible.
