I love the quote...on the surface and the images it evokes beneath the surface. I especially like what you did with it! Whimsical and inviting.

The quote sounds so English, saying the self evident yet with a deeper undercurrent. Your lettering matches it so well . . .

Romantic bordering erotic, me thinks.

Cool pen.

Gwen, this is fabulous!! Your lettering is so whimsical and matches the quote perfectly. I even see your "words" as pieces of jewelry. They are really lovely. (and i love typography too!)
Have a great day! xoxo

When I read this quote it moved me like the first time I heard a cello...

I especially like those curlicues and dots. It must have felt good to linger awhile with those words and play. The words move on the page as their meaning moves you.

Hi Gwen, mo, unfortunately not our stove but one in the shearer's quarters in a semi-desert outback station and a much larger than normal stove, Those kettles hold upward of 15 cups each and the aluminium pots we used for dyeing innumerable bundles in. India also cooked all our meals on it preferring it to the new electric range. There is something so satisfying and comforting about a wood stove.

Hugs . . . Arija

This is indeed a lovely quote, Gwen, and beautifully rendered in your sketch book. Thanks for sharing. Most of us love to see what's in other people's sketch books.

I had never heard this quote before, but now..I think I shall never forget it.
I am never brave enough to show my sketch book, as my drawings are always so messy, that only I can make them out!

Louciao, It was fun..and I had just received an order of some new pens and ink and had to play.

Arija.. I couldn't live without a woodstove!! Hugs to you too.. Lucky you to have your meals cooked.. Now that would be living like a Queen.

George, we are a curious lot, aren't we?

Jeri your work is amazing at any stage... I believe the process it the most exciting part..
