Don't Worry About Perfect

Take it from a Fox.

Even these foxes know they will probably never Stick-Fight perfectly but it's not stopping them from heading into the forest, cutting a long thin pole and brushing up on their Martial Arts.

approx. 5" x 7", a bit of humor from my sketchbook using pen and colored pencil.

Sly as a fox...carrying a big stick! I thought they were brushing up on their soft shoe routine, using a stick for a cane, and just missing the straw boater or top hat to round out the routine (not quite perfection). But brushing up on their Martial Arts is even more delightful! Or if they get a really big stick, maybe they could try pole vaulting. Sooo delightful, Gwen. I am grinning like a fox as I look at your drawings. Certainly the sentiment should be "imprefectly" embroidered onto a cushion cover to have on hand as a daily reminder.

Such pretty little foxes! They don't look like they're taking it seriously enough though - just larking about, I suspect.

Oh I love the foxes! And they are practicing martial arts. So cool.

Louciao, That is the slyness coming out.. it is all a front... one minute they are perceived as dancing, then whoosh, the old soft shoe turns into a good whooping.

Rachel, they are basically trying to hang onto the sticks at this point.

Well Guillaume, you never know what those rascally foxes are up to in the clearing out behind the treeline.

Oh, the fox stories I could tell. They are NOT on my buddy list right now. If only our foxes would take up the old soft shoe, or even ball room dancing or the tango, maybe they would be too busy to visit our chicken coop.

a-ha Jeri, that is where all the foxes have gone.. They are in their 7 yr. cycle here.. a few years ago you couldn't go anywhere without tripping over a fox but that must have been the peak... now when the rabbits start over-populating themselves again I believe they will be back in their full glory.

Thank you Heather.. they were fun. I love animals as people.

Carol, If the stick fighting goes no where for these 3 fellas perhaps baton twirling.

Olivier, I think best in pictures. words are just a bunch of letters. Cheers.

Take it from me, a crow: foxes are neither sly, nor cunning. Moreover, they do not stick-fight. In fact, they almost never fight at all. They run well, and this usually serves them best.
But as an artistic fantasy, stick-fighting foxes amuse and delight.
Nice :)

Thanks Crow, Foxes are beautiful animals and very intelligent... and always ready to take advantage of a nice quick meal, but with 4 dogs running about the place, they don't come near the dog dish till after they have gone to bed... when I forget to bring it in.
I have watched them play together with a stick tugging it between them like dogs do but never hitting each other with it as humans may.

Thanks Olivier, it was a pleasure.
