Hands 9

A Hand Not Working by Gwen Buchanan

Does blood flow differently through a moving hand... or a hand at rest?
Similarly perhaps, as a mind puzzling out an answer and a mind asleep?

Just wondering....

This hand fell asleep as it stayed very still... while my other hand worked and searched for lines and shades.  After a while the resting hand felt as if it were someone elses.... something foreign on the end of my arm.

Approx. 5" x 7" conte, charcoal, drawing

Is it an older man's hand?

no, just a hand that has seen years of life.

I love your hand drawings, er...drawings of hands. It is intriguing that the hand fell asleep and no longer felt like yours...had turned perhaps to a work of art, you, yet not you. Interesting.

That feeling creeps me out... when my hands or feet feel like they're not a part of me... ack! shivers!

Carol, I still haven't figured how if the blood flows differently.. hummm

Steven when that happens they also feel heavier and bigger and dead.

This offers very intriguing thoughts about aliveness and almost non-living, frozen in between... interesting! I like how you present what is, not matter what, an dnot least this is a very BEAUTIFUL study of your hand, Gwen! Happy Day ((HUGS))

Oh, I wish I wish I had this kind of gift of image creation. Lovely.

Tracy, so many things happening all at the same time.. and we have grown to take them for granted. it would be so exciting to study mammalian brains and how they learn to do the things they do. xoxo

Emily, I wish I had the gift of putting words together to say the things that I really feel.. instead of in my uber-con-stubbled way !! Thank you for visiting. Cheers to you.
