The Garden

Gardens... growing things... the rows of texture, color, form...

The knowledge that someone toiled to bring this into being.... the knowledge that someone cared...

The urge to linger...

Gardens are beautiful; no matter what shape or size.

The garden made me paint this little watercolor.

approx. 2" x 3 " 140 lb. arches watercolor paper

I love this image.

It reminds me of some of the quick "sketches" I've done on vacations around the world. It has a wonderful "feel" to it.

I just discovered today that you had left a comment on my blog a while ago.

Thanks for checking my work out.

Thanks!
I appreciate the comment... coming from someone who is so prolific.

Especially love the linocut portraits. Amazing work.

Hey Gwen-
The prolific part comes from a need to maintain my sanity living in a city like this. It has become the one thing in my life I can be consistently fulfilled by doing it.
The linocut portraits on the postcards are actually part of a project I started a while ago where I was documenting "A Face A Day", by doing a 2-color print. These postcards are my way of recycling the image by using what's left of the linoleum after cutting out the first color of the "Face".
I got into this whole mailart thing and thought, why not utilize these remaining linos. It's been a fun secondary project.

Always something cooking here. ;0)

similar but different... when you refer to "a city like this", I can relate the rush of the city to the solitude of this rural village.. two extremes... where art keeps you sane!
