A Few Quick Studies of Eyes

The better to see you...........

Interesting how you start with one idea and others move in and take over.
...just like the rest of life.
 I guess it's all relative.

...inspiration from many sources, including Leonardo da Vinci,
using sanguine conte, pen and ink, wash, hatching in my sketchbook.

Still looking at snow and working on jewelry... making headway on the jewelry, none on the snow.

Wonderful collection of eyes. A good thing to review! And, still looking at a ton of snow, too. HUGE plow mountains and roof avalanche piles. But warm as it goes... happy drawing!!!

So this is what is meant as 'flower power'
I have often wondered :)

Beautiful. This reminds me that I found your blog because of the portrait of Anthony Burgess you made.

Lovely...

Our snow is {sadly} almost all gone. Rain. Rain. Rain...Three days now. Brings some gorgeous hazy mornings though...

Valerianna, Yes, milder the last few days... going to take a while to melt the snowdrifts this year. I have to think positive.. White is beautiful. I like white. I can do it.

Louciao, and the Nays would be horses eyes. Good idea.

Steven, I am still thinking about that amazing workbench you made. Out of this world!

Heron's View, you remember the sixties... That's a great way to look at it.

Guillaume, I remember that colorful portrait... that was fun!

Dee, I bet your hazy mornings are beautiful, for sure. I's not that I hate snow, cause I love snowforts, snowmen, snow-sculptures, sliding (I love sliding), the clean whiteness, the quiet of it, the way the dogs roll in it, and poke their heads in and throw it over their heads. I love those aspects of it. It must be the Cold that I mind.

Interesting studies, eyes are so hard to do. I always end up with eyes on different levels :-(

Jane, I have great fun trying to figure out how to do things... and with so many things to learn, I need lots of practicing so it should keep me busy for a long time.

Hahahah...hey, Gwen...we had a mini blizzard yesterday. Crippled city traffic...lots of idiots still racing around having accidents though....

got about 7 new inches ..pretty wet and heavy to shovel....whew..... still have to do the patio....

Eyes... my fav thing to draw on the dollies...not that mine are quite as artistic as yours...but, I love them all the same.... haven't done a doll face for a couple of years now...and when I get out my coloured pencils...I then always wonder...will I be able to draw an eye that resembles an eye?... somehow..yes ...I manage it.

Nice! Eyes can be very difficult to draw, yet are so critical to a piece. "Start with one idea and others take over" - reminds me of John Lennon's wise words, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans..." Good luck with the jewelry; the snow will resolve itself sooner or later!

BumbleVee, I feel for you with all that lovely fresh snow... cause we just received more too. I think it's the winter to end all winters or the beginning of the Ice Age... or Cabin fever.

Sharmon, so that was John Lennon who wrote that. I guess it happens to everybody, isn't that always the way. Thanks for the good wishes, I know when summer comes I will be scolding myself about why I didn't get more production done in January.

This year i am going back to having pots of herbs on my windowsill all year long .. I really miss brushing past them and the scent that follows.

Eyes are the gateway to the soul! I've always enjoyed drawing them. Yours are so lovely and full of life! Thank you for sharing them =)

Dixiebelle, I've always thought that the eyes were the windows to the soul too. They tell so much. I love it. and I also feel that windows are the eyes of a structure.
Cheers.
