The Primrose Blanket .... Yay... Crochet!

This is the first crocheting I have done in a very long time...
...the design is from the Norwegian Designers "Arne and Carlos" crocheted Primrose blanket...
I Loved ❤️ it so much I'm now working on my second one...

just getting started

Switching it up and doing some crocheting ... something I have done very little of till this year... it's really fun and easier than knitting, at least I find it so... surrounding myself with colour and things to keep my hands and mind busy... eventually with the addition of many more crocheted circles and an additional contrasting circular round on each one, this will be a super cheery "Flower-Garden Blanket". ðŸ˜Š
...inspired by the Norwegian designers, "Arne and Carlos"...if you have not heard of them, check them out they have lots of YouTube videos... talented and fun ❤️

The basket is filling up.. using all kinds of different colours and sizes of yarn in any type I have around, wool, acrylic, silky stuff, fluffy stuff, mohair, cotton... anything at all ðŸ™‚... just stuff from a grab-bag of scrappy odds and ends that have accumulated...
doesn't take long ... and I love the multitude of combinations ❤️
... just using the simple steel crochet hook that's shown lying in the middle of the pile ... when I have enough 2-colour circles soon, I will add the 3rd colour which will be added to each circle as they are attached together.

in progress
in order to begin attaching them together, a third round of colour is added

then they are attached as you go along.

still assembling

the little 1/2 circles that attach along the edges to make a straight edge

next the border to frame it all in

so pretty..

it is quite a good size

Man, I just love it!!!

This one was made in Oct-Dec 2019 ... but I liked it so much I decided it was the perfect project to be occupied on during this worldwide shutdown crazy time...
if you have to stay home for a long time, it is best to focus on a pleasureful activity and make yourself a little happy... I did.

to watch the video where they share how they did it please see this...
also check out their blog for the actual pattern.. it was great fun to make

Thank you Arne and Carlos for everything you offer to the world.. you are so inspiring!!! ðŸ˜Š

***update: I had to upload all my pictures a week later as  when I did this the first time. I went to check my blog and only one picture was showing.. I saw that other people on blogger were having the same problem.. Hope they stay this time... if not let me know cheers,
and don't watch the news... too stressful

Nice crocheting. And I would kill for your bookshelves and for the room to have them in.

Hey Thank you Guillaume.. I have a hard time passing by second hand book sales without checking them out.. kind of gathered up a few.. I love books.. this room is our only main room of the house, 17' x 23', we took down some walls when we rebuilt the place.. . has the kitchen, dining area, couch, Tv, wood stove.. we do everything here.. Cozy .You take care over there during this crazy world thing that's going on and I hope you, your little boy and wife stay healthy

Thanks, we are keeping safe. And talking of books, plenty to read helps during a lockdown.

Looks a bit Klimt-ish?! And very much a cheer up.

wow now that's a compliment Wildside... Thank you.. I'm still working on the second one and to mix it up a bit I put a quilt top in the frames ,, gotta keep the mind challenged. Cheers

Yes, Klimt-ish it is! Gwen, just so you know if you want someplace to swing by now & again (but don't feel the need to! I'm not at all as creative as you!): as of this very moment, I am currently back up blog-wise, but I don't know what it means (?!?) or for how long as my blogs have been "stolen" before -- which means still up for all to see and I like to see again, but I can't get into them and don't know who "owns" them... Plus, right now, this is what I have up currently is still a rather a silly personal/private blog I've been using for just me not meant to be a public face. BUT OOP! Beeper going off -- so got to go. Mostly, I hope you & yours are surviving world-wide lockdown well enough where you are, intact, in place. Take good care!

Wildside, Great to hear that you have your blog up again.. I will be over.. I sure can't wait for there to be any semblance of normalcy to come around. so difficult with the million rules they set out for the world to follow. man.. I am so annoyed by it all. I hope you are managing to hang on.. Take care and see you soon.

Thanks Gwen for stopping by and commenting so quickly... I haven't as yet replied to comment left there but want you to know I do appreciate.

Perhaps give us an update how growing rosemary from seed works for you?! It seems it would take a long time. I know it would here...

This lockdown at first seemed to me just the last straw in so many things that have been going on & going wrong over the past few many years... I did have my meltdown. But then others I know have had much more dramatic tales to tell & again today I say -- despite possibly sounding crass & crude & rude to others (apologies!) -- perhaps this is the best thing ever to happen to us if we can but change some habits for the better, & most importantly, and more of a challenge, stay healthy?!?

Take good care.
